The Waal Bridge in your home? You can make it happen!

About a year or two ago, we cut the iconic Nijmegen Waal Bridge out of foam for the first time, based on a design by our own Jordy. Some of you may already have seen it before or spotted it in our office; in any case, it always stood out in a positive way. The same was true for Jan Diebels... and the conclusion was quickly reached: this bridge belongs in the IloveNijmegen collection!
Jan Diebels is a familiar name to many people in Nijmegen and the surrounding area. You may know him from clothing stores in the city (Dedicated & Daily Fresh), and since the end of 2020 also from the webshop for Nijmegen products of all kinds and sizes: ilovenijmegen.nl. Over the years, we’ve come to know Jan as a passionate entrepreneur with a huge heart for Nijmegen. As you can imagine, that’s something we appreciate at EKI. So this collaboration was a no-brainer.
The Waal Bridge in progress
With the help of the waterjet machine, Youness, Pim, and Jordy professionally produced the first series of bridges last week. And because the final result speaks for itself, we thought it would be fun this time to also give a little behind-the-scenes look at the production process!

Thanks for the fun assignment and great collaboration, Jan! Definitely not a typical order for us, but one we’re especially proud of. We love our Nijmegen just as much as Jan does, so we’re very happy that, as a B2B company, we can now give something back quite directly to everyone who holds Nijmegen close to their heart :-)
