150 jaar EKI én Hofleverancier!

What a special milestone for EKI: we are celebrating 150 years in business and have officially been awarded the Royal Warrant designation. Of course, we celebrated this together last Wednesday at the Ambachtsweg in Nijmegen — right in the heart of our company: the cutting department. The place where our production process begins and where we process rubber and foam in all shapes and sizes every day. To us, it felt like the only fitting place to celebrate this double milestone.

Surrounded by machines and materials, a beautiful setting was created by EventOntwerpers, with delicious food and drinks provided by De Honneurs. A celebration venue only EKI could have: right in the middle of our own production facility.

The 7th Generation Stole the Show

Perhaps the biggest stars of the day? Sebas (9) and Stan (6), our 7th generation. They already had a clear vision of their future as directors: “long breaks and everyone can do whatever they want.” Fair enough, that definitely made us laugh.

Great Stories, Plenty of Humor, and a Truly Nijmegen Ending

The afternoon was filled with memorable moments. Wilco Van Schaik shared inspiring insights into the similarities between top-level sports and entrepreneurship, Rolph & Sterre hosted a spirited EKI quiz, and Mayor Hubert Bruls officially presented the Royal Warrant designation. Naturally, this came with a strong story and a healthy dose of humor.

Our mini-documentary about 150 years of EKI also made a strong impression and we will gladly share more about it soon. And when, as a true Nijmegen company, you get to end the day with a performance by Ronnie Ruysdael, you know there was little left to complain about.

You do not reach a milestone like this alone. That is why our greatest thanks go to all colleagues — from production to the office — who dedicate themselves to EKI every single week with heart and soul.

We also want to thank our customers, suppliers, and the five generations before us. Without you, we would never have reached these 150 years.
