Properties of neoprene with 2 sides nylon

Neoprene with two sides nylon is the material from which neoprene diving suits or neoprene wetsuits are made. This material consists of a neoprene foam core with a nylon layer on both sides. The material is also known as neoprene fabric. The nylon layer on both sides adds comfort and makes the suit easier to put on. It also makes the material sturdier, easier to sew and stitch, and more durable. The raw material combines the good properties of different rubbers such as EPDM and NBR rubber. As a result, it has good UV and ozone resistance and reasonable oil resistance. A more important quality is its excellent resistance to fresh water and seawater, which makes this material suitable for diving suit rubber. This is also because it has an insulating effect and increases buoyancy. Neoprene has good mechanical properties and is designed to stretch often. It also has fairly good flame-retardant properties (not in accordance with UL94). It requires little maintenance, feels smooth and absorbs water. The material is produced in blocks and then peeled into sheets in a variety of thicknesses as desired. It is then covered with nylon. The neoprene sheets can also be cut into a range of shapes, such as rings, cubes and more. At EKI, we can supply this material in the following colours: black, red, royal blue, navy blue, light grey and orange.

Uses of neoprene with 2 sides nylon

Neoprene with two sides nylon is available in different densities. The softest type is used for wading suits and surfing suits, among other things, and can be used to a depth of 15 metres. The most commonly used type is slightly more dense and is mostly used for diving suits, as it is suitable for depths of up to 35 metres. The last type we sell is extra dense, and can be used for diving to a depth of 70 metres. The material can also be used for a range of other consumer applications, including protective items such as leg pads for horses, elbow guards and wrist straps. It is also used to make bottle coolers. In addition, neoprene with two sides of nylon can be used to make all kinds of other protective clothing and sportswear, as well as bags, cases and other accessories.
