Properties of neoprene with 1 side Velcro
Neoprene with Velcro consists of a neoprene foam core with a Velcro layer on one side and a nylon layer on the other. The Velcro makes it easy to attach the material to items, for example around an arm, leg, tube or other object. The Velcro hooks attach to the loops, creating a secure attachment. The nylon layer provides comfort as well as making the material sturdier, easier to sew and stitch, and more durable. The raw material combines the good properties of different rubbers such as EPDM and NBR rubber. As a result, it has good resistance to UV and ozone, and is very resistant to fresh water and sea water. Neoprene has good mechanical properties and can stretch often. It also has reasonable flame-retardant properties (not in accordance with UL94). The material requires little maintenance and is smooth to the touch. It is produced in blocks and then peeled into sheets in a variety of thicknesses as desired. It is then covered with Velcro and nylon.
