EKI only provides information to third parties if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

Cookies or similar technologies that we use

EKI uses functional, analytical and tracking cookies. EKI uses cookies with a purely technical functionality. These ensure that the website works properly and that your preferences are remembered, for example. These cookies are also used to ensure that the website works properly and to optimise it. We also place cookies that track your browsing habits so we can serve customised content and advertisements. We have already informed you about these cookies on your first visit to our website. You can opt out of cookies by changing your internet browser settings so that it no longer stores cookies. You can also delete any information previously stored through your browser settings.

    What is a cookie?

We use cookies on this website. Cookies are small, simple files that are sent along with pages and applications of this website and are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. The information stored therein may be sent back to our servers on your next visit.

    Use of permanent cookies

A permanent cookie allows us to recognise you when you visit our website again. This allows the website to be configured specifically according to your preferences. If you have given your permission for cookies to be placed, we can also remember this by means of a cookie. You can delete permanent cookies through your browser settings.

    Use of session cookies

A session cookie allows us to see which parts of the website you viewed on your current visit. This allows us to tailor our service as much as possible according to the surfing habits of our visitors. These cookies are automatically deleted once you close your web browser.

    First-party tracking cookies

When it comes to tracking cookies, we place a cookie on your device that can be called up as soon as you visit a website from our network. This lets us know that you have visited any other relevant website(s) from our network in addition to our website. The profile built up as a result is not linked to your name, address, e-mail address and the like, but only serves to tailor advertisements to your profile, so that they are as relevant to you as possible. These first-party cookies include the tracking tool Hotjar, which we use to make our website as user-friendly as possible. We use Hotjar to better understand the needs of our users and improve our website. Hotjar helps us with this by measuring things like the amount of much time spent on each page, which links are clicked, which content is viewed frequently, etc. This allows us to optimise our website based on real user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies to collect data about your behaviour on the website and your devices, such as your IP address (which is only stored anonymously), screen size, device type, browser type, geographical location (country only) and language. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or match this data with anything else. For more information on Hotjar's privacy policy, please visit Hotjar's privacy policy.

    Analytical cookies

Through our website, a cookie is placed by the U.S. company Google as part of the ‘Analytics’ service. We use this service to track and receive reports on how visitors use the website. Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so, or to the extent that third parties process the information on Google's behalf. We have no influence on this. We have allowed Google to use the Analytics information for other Google services, such as Google Adwords and Google Tag Manager. The information Google collects is anonymised as much as possible. Your IP address is explicitly not included. The information is transferred to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google states that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles and is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Privacy Shield programme. This means that there is an adequate level of protection for the processing of any personal data.

More information about enabling, disabling and deleting cookies can be found in the instructions of your browser or by using your browser’s Help function. In this link, the Consumers' Association also explains how to delete or block different types of cookies by browser and device type.

In addition, you have the right to withdraw any consent you have given for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by EKI, and you have the right to data portability.
