Mineral fibre felt expands when exposed to heat and fills residual openings resulting in better thermal insulation. Firetape is used to prevent fire dispersing and protects between 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the dimensions of the felt and its fire rating.

This ceramic felt is used for heat shielding at very high temperatures. (up to 1100 ºC) It is important to note that this felt does not expand when in contact with flames.
